Rod
Stewart Tribute - Dylan Cassidy
The Ultimate Tribute to Rod Stewart
(Based UK & Spain)
There are many tributes to Rod Stewart around
the world so why is Dylan Cassidy’s Tribute described
as the ULTIMATE? Because to deserve this title you have
to believe that you are watching the original artist, and
that is exactly what you feel when you see this show
No wigs no gimmicks just an absolutely striking similarity
both visually and vocally, not only the look and the voice
Dylan has taken his tribute to Rod one step further by studying
Rod The God’s mannerisms his footwork his speaking
voice and even his facial expressions during his concerts
He has his energy, rock and charisma, and like Rod he is
witty not brash and oozes panache and class. The immense
vibrancy of his performance draws his audience into believing
that they are with the great man himself
Dylan was probably one of the first ROD STEWART
TRIBUTE Show’s long before tribute shows were as popular
as they are to-day. Back in the 80’s when Rod had
the longer hair the leopard skin cat suit and the visor
Dylan was doing the same (photos in The
Gallery ) don’t laugh (how fashion has changed!)
Dylan’s Rod Stewart show was then part of a much bigger
show along with other tributes who toured the theatres (a
sort of Stars in Your Eyes theatre show) long before the
popular TV show was even thought of. The success of the
show continued for many years, but like all good things
the show came to an end and all the performers went on to
do other things.
Dylan primarily from a musical theatre background went on
to do other things within the industry. After doing Rod
Stewart for so long it seemed only natural that Dylan would
want to do something quite different and craved to be himself
again this is when he formed an original band Fly, who had
minor chart success and along with Bananarma went on to
be support band to a 20,000 strong crowd for the very famous
SPECIALS who were number one at the time with the hit GHOST
TOWN sadly the record deal for Dylan’s original band
Fly was not quite what was promised and the band did not
fly anymore.
It was now back to musical theatre and the acting skills
learned early in his career were a god send for parts in
Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph, and The Blues Brothers but
to name a few. Some TV and film work (small parts mainly)
and heaps of jingles (adverts) and voice overs
Working a long side many up and coming artists and actors
who are now household names, but Dylan himself never really
got the lucky break.
Rod was still under his skin and was one of the parts he
enjoyed playing most of all, because being Rod there were
parts of himself that he was able to nurture, his acting,
performing, stage craft and sheer good old rock&roll,
and so here now was Rod again, only this time it would be
even better!
The amount of people who remark that the whole persona is
just incredible is very encouraging, and even partners who
have been dragged along unwillingly to see a Tribute to
their spouses idol have been converted therefore (Rod himself
has acquired even more fans) So here you have it a little
story about a big personality doing what he loves best.
